558 Square Inches Of Cooking Surface

When choosing a grille, the size of the cooking space is a huge factor that you need to take into consideration.

You need to look at whether you will be cooking for you and the family or being the grill master for larger parties.  This can help make your decision a little easier as you would not need a large cooking surface if you only cook for a few people.

With 558 square inches of cooking surface, you have the capability to cook for a small to medium crowd with ease. To put it into perspective, that is about 25 hamburgers at once!

42,000 Total BTUs Of Heating Power

Higher BTU ratings are not always better when it comes to grills.

It is often the most misunderstood feature on most grills as well.

To understand what this rating means, we have to first look at what a BTU is.  A BTU, or British Thermal Unit, is a measurement of how much heat your grill can produce.

The standard to look for is 80-100 BTUs per square inch of cooking surface.  So, with 558 square inches of cooking surface, the ideal BTUs will need to fall in the range of 44,640-55,800.  Rated at 42,000 BTUs, this Blaze outdoor grill falls just short of the ideal range, but it’s cooking capabilities do not suffer.

Stainless Steel Cooking Grates

The Blaze BLZ-3-NG features stainless steel 8mm cooking rods that deliver an even sear throughout the 558 sq/inch cooking range.

Stainless steel cooking grates are superior in retaining heat when compared to their cast iron counterparts.  A downfall with cast iron, that you may have experienced before, is that cast iron rusts and corrodes over time.

Stainless steel is resistant to corroding and is easier to clean, so maintaining this Blaze professional grill painless.  The best part is, if anything ever does go wrong, these cooking grates are covered by Blaze’s lifetime warranty.

Stainless Steel Frame & Housing

To keep this grill looking nice while being weather resistant, Blaze has constructed it of commercial grade 304 stainless steel.

The hood, knobs, plates, burners, and cooking rods are all made from 304-stainless steel and provide a low maintenance, hassle free grill surface. The versatility of stainless steel allows you to easily mount this grill virtually anywhere outdoors, covered or uncovered.

Removable Warming Rack

A warming rack is an essential feature of any BBQ grill.

They come in three options: fixed, adjustable, and removable.  This Blaze grill features a removable warming rack to give you great warming abilities for buns and other food that needs to stay warm, while still allowing you to remove it for added space.

This rack is made from stainless steel for a long lasting, easy to clean surface.

Stainless Steel Heat Zone Separators

An added feature for the Blaze BLZ-3-NG is the addition of stainless steel heat zone separators.

Heat zone separators are basically stainless steel walls that allow you to create different heat zones on the grates to keep certain areas hotter or cooler.

This is a great feature if you are cooking two different types of foods that require different temperatures.  Easily keep one section of your grill’s cooking space at a lower temperature for cooking different meats all at once.

Flame Stabilization Grid

To give you a more even cook and prevent flame flare-ups, Blaze had integrated flame stabilization grids to help distribute heat for a better cooking experience.

These help minimize flare-ups and allow for more evenly cooked food without hot spots on your grill.  These are also made from stainless steel to allow for an easy to clean, long lasting and low maintenance addition.

Full-Length Drip Pan

The full-length drip pan that is included in this grill allows for a quick and easy cleanup and reduces oil dripping beneath the grill.

The drip pan is easily removable from the front of the grill and is constructed of 304 stainless steel which adds to the low maintenance cleaning.

Who Is The Blaze BLZ-3-NG Made For?

Blaze professional grills are made for the griller who is looking for excellent value in a built-in grill that is made to last in any conditions.

They are very user-friendly and can be operated by anyone who knows how to use a gas grill.  For us, the target market would most likely be the homeowners who like to entertain a small to medium crowd or have limited space for your outdoor kitchen.

Additionally, if you are looking for a commercial-grade outdoor grill with near perfect all-around performance that offers a best-in-class lifetime warranty, then this grill is for you.

Why You Should Think Twice

There are very few things that make me second-guess this grill as a future purchase.

If I had to pick one thing out, it would be the complete stainless-steel knobs and handle.  As an avid griller who has grilled in the Texas heat, I can only imagine how hot these may get.  I would like to see some rubber grips on both to aid in the summer months.  This is in no way a deal killer, but it is hard to find anything to complain about with the Blaze 25”.

Let’s Break It Down

There are going to be various pros and cons with any grill and the Blaze BLZ -3-NG is no different.

Of course, based on your personal preferences, yours may be different from mine.  However, we are going to base this off the average user.

Price And Warranties

With an MSRP of right under $1,400, but that is currently listed at $1,099.99, this Blaze grill is not only affordable for most budgets but is a relatively low price for the number of commercial grade features it has.

Blaze offers a lifetime warranty covering defects in craftsmanship and manufacturing of heat zone separators, control valves, stainless steel housing, cooking grids, stainless steel burners, flame tamers, and all other stainless-steel components.

The Bottom Line

Wrapping everything up and looking at how this Blaze outdoor grill compares to others in its market, we have to say we are really impressed with the BLZ-3-NG.

The fully stainless steel built in grill is an awesome addition to any patio and matches many aftermarket accessories like mini fridges, cabinets, and any other enclosure add-ons.

So, whether you are looking for a grill to go under your covered patio or a grill that can withstand the elements being uncovered, this Blaze professional grill should be on your list.  A list of top-tier features, backed by a solid warranty is always a winner in our books.
