Living The Grilling Life
Hi everyone, my name is Patrick, and I have been an outdoor cooking and BBQ enthusiast for over 20 years. I’m a real person just like you, who loves outdoor cooking and BBQ. Food, fun and time spent with family and friends are what it’s all about! It is my mission to take my passion and knowledge for outdoor cooking and BBQ and share this expertise of techniques and grilling equipment with you. Living The Grilling Life!
I’m definitely Living The Grilling Life.
I love all things BBQ. I love eating BBQ, talking about BBQ, but most of all, I love getting outside and cooking BBQ. You might even say, I’m a bit of a grill freak! And you’d be right! It’s hard to pick my favorite thing to grill, but if I had to make a choice…I’d say it is a tie between a tri-tip and a slow cooked, smoky brisket.
During my years of outdoor cooking, I have tried many different grilling methods and styles and used many different types of grills and fuels. Everything from Gas, Charcoal, Lump, Wood, Wood Pellets and Electric. I am currently grilling and cooking on a Large Big Green Egg charcoal cooker, a Traeger Century pellet grill, and a Napoleon LEX propane gas grill.
I have tried just about every type of outdoor cooking method that you could think of, and I will admit, not always successfully at first.
The Reason I’m Here
The Reason I created this site is to help folks like yourself to learn from my mistakes and to have a successful grilling experience every time. To do this, I am going to share my personal experiences with you and what I have discovered over the years through my own trial and error experiments.
I am also always on the lookout for the best grilling accessories and products, seasonings and recipes which I will be trying and be reviewing for you.
All I ask is that if I ever say or discuss anything that captures your interest, that you get involved on this site. Like I said, I love talking about all things grilling from favorite recipes, techniques, tools/accessories to results. If you have anything interesting you would like to share or any opinions on any of the content I have created on this site, please speak up. I love feedback and honest discussions in any form.
If you are like me and love to entertain family and friends and serve them great food hot off the grill without worrying about whether everything is going to come out just right, then you have come to the right place.
And in starting this journey, I also hope to increase my own knowledge and skills. I would like to learn as much as you do in this endeavor. So let’s do this together.
So Now to Me and My Personal Journey to the Grilling Life…
One of my favorite memories, when I was young, is grilling with my dad. I grew up with three female siblings so it was always a special treat when he would tell me we would be grilling that night. It really didn’t matter what or how we would be grilling; I was just excited to be able to get one on one time with him and bond. He would grab a Coors light, and I would grab a soda, and to the backyard, we would go. I remember thinking BBQ was the best food in the whole world. This was the start of it all.
I also remember the twice-yearly fishing trips my dad and his friends would take me to where they would grill spicy Italian sausages on “Sausage night” and marinated steaks on “Steak night” on a little portable Weber “Smokey Joe.” Being outside in the middle of nowhere, listening to the stream rush by, seeing the millions of stars in the sky and smelling the food being grilled might be as close to heaven as I’ll ever get.
As I got older and moved out on my own, I remember the evening BBQ’s with my three roommates, swimming, having a cold beer and watching the sun go down. We had an old Weber gas grill, and our skills had a lot to be desired, but it wasn’t the results that mattered back then. Again, it was the camaraderie and good times.
My Grilling Journey
My grilling journey has gone through many stages and is still evolving to this day. With so many new and innovative products and techniques coming out every year, this is an exciting time to be an outdoor cook.
Lastly, never lose sight of the fact that this should be a fun and relaxing experience. A chance to get outside and enjoy the fresh air. A chance to bond with family and friends or a chance to get away from it all for a little while to clear the mind, think things over and get a little personal time.
If you ever need any feedback or support regarding your next cookout, I would be more than happy to connect. Simply leave your comments below or send me an email and I will get back to you.
