The pros, the cons, and the facts about the Memphis Grills Pro Pellet Grill.
Full discloser, I’m generally a fan of anything by Memphis Grills, and that goes for the Memphis Pro Pellet Grill, as well. For a grill to classify as worthwhile—to me, at least—it needs to be built with quality materials, convenient, powerful, and versatile. I don’t want something that limits my cooking options or that can only cook small pieces of meat. Sure, a few sausages are all you want every once in a while, but who wants to waste money on a BBQ that doesn’t do justice to anything but dogs and burgers?

The Pro offers myriad temperature control methods, the ease of Wi-Fi connectivity, and the ability to burn for up to 62 hours, not to mention a whole host of other features. There are a ton of different ways you can cook on this model as well. I’m sold. Let’s see if we can get you there, too.

Benefits Of The Memphis Pro Pellet Grill
The benefits of the Memphis Pro pellet smoker are nearly too many to list, so let’s focus on convenience first. The Pro has it in spades.
Some of the more noticeable benefits are…

Control The Grill From Anywhere, Even While Watching The Big Game
Anytime you can control an appliance or gadget via your phone or tablet, you should jump on the opportunity. Upon purchase, you can download the Memphis Mobile app, which is free on Android and iOS devices. It allows you to access the grill’s technologically advanced temperature control system, aptly called the Intelligent Temperature Control from any connected WiFi enabled device.
That’s all you need to control the grill from anywhere. Because the app sends text messages or emails to update you on the cooking temperature of your food, you can adjust it even if you’re inside chopping onions.
Not Having To Worry About Refilling The Hopper Half Way Through
I generally don’t have any use for a smoker that can’t handle a long, low and slow cook without having to replenish the hopper mid-way through. The Memphis Grill Pro doesn’t disappoint there. Its hopper can hold 18 pounds of pellets, but here’s the thing: it’s a dual hopper. Each side holds nine pounds of pellets, making it simpler to know how much you need to use.
It takes those 18 pounds up to 62 hours to burn, although that depends on your temperature settings. That’s long, low, and slow for almost three days. You can consistently smoke for two days, no problem.
Easily Creating The Perfect Smoke Flavor Profile For Every Meal
That dual hopper has another benefit: versatility. Since you have two separate sections, you’re under no obligation to use the same pellets on both sides. What’s the fun in that? Instead, you have the chance to experiment with flavored pellets. Want a hint of hickory smoke? No problem. Want to mix a woody flavor with a fruity note? You can do that. Let us know the results of your concoctions, though.
So Many Ways To Cook And Experiment On This Grill
One of the biggest advantages of the Memphis Pro model is the versatile temperature range that allows you to smoke at low temperatures, or truly sear your food directly over an open flame. In between those two extremes, go ahead and roast, braise, bake, grill or BBQ your meat to your heart’s content. This is one versatile cooker.

Using The Memphis Pro Pellet Smoker
Most Memphis wood fire grills are so simple to use that even your kid could do it. Don’t let a kid do it, of course, but theoretically, it would be fine. Operating the grill is just that easy—that’s the point I’m trying to make. Fill up the hopper with the pellets of your choice, then set the temperature using the Intelligence Temperature Control that’s mounted to the front of the grill. Yep, you can access it on the grill or through the app.
Let’s take a second to talk about the temperature. You can set it anywhere between 180 degrees Fahrenheit and 650 degrees Fahrenheit. That’s an impressive range, particularly on the upper end as most pellet grills max out at 500 degrees Fahrenheit or less.
Now, once you set the temperature, the pellets feed down into the grill’s burn pot automatically. You can insert the temperature probe that’s included with the grill, but you don’t have to use it. On that subject, however, the ITC can accommodate two more probes, but you’re on the hook for purchasing the extra two.
Memphis Pellet Grill Description And Features
The Memphis Pro Pellet Grill is a freestanding grill that looks, for lack of a better term, sleek AF. It resembles something out of science fiction when the side wings are upraised. Four casters ensure effortless mobility, which is more important than you might think. You want to be able to move a freestanding grill wherever you please, within reason. The outside is nothing compared to what it’s capable of, though.

Temperature Control
We’ve already discussed this, but it’s worth mentioning again. The more control you have over your temperature, the better, particularly when you’re dealing with a grill that doubles as a smoker. Here’s what I haven’t told you about the Intelligence Temperature Control yet: when the grill, or your food (if you’re using the probe) reach the temperature you want, the ITC automatically turns down the temperature to warming levels. Smart technology, my friends.
Even Distribution Of Heat
The Memphis Pro Pellet Grill is hiding a convection oven inside of all that 304-grade stainless steel. In fact, there’s a dual fan convection system that supplies a steady stream of oxygen to feed the fire. The fan itself evenly distributes the heat so that the 562-square-inch grilling surface has balanced temperatures. That reduces the risk of hot spots, plus it makes your food cook at an impressive rate.
True Searing Ability
The Memphis pellet grill comes with the Direct Flame Insert. Leave it on the grating and you can sear steaks so beautifully, you could make a five-star chef weep with joy. Don’t want to deal with it? No problem. Just take it out and leave it for another day.
Integrated Food Probe
One Food probe comes standard and it integrates directly with the Intelligence Temperature Controller. There are ports for up to three food probes actually, but you will have to purchase the rest separately.
Available In A Built-In Model As Well
One of the truly unique aspects of the Pro is that it is available as a built-in model as well. Imagine, now having the option to add a pellet smoker to your outdoor kitchen design. Tempting.

Who Was The Memphis Grill Pro Made For?
Do you love that woody, smoky, rich flavor that you get with a wood-fired grill but don’t want the hassle and clean up? Then the Memphis Pro Pellet Grill is for you. Do you prefer grilling above all else? Then it’s worth the investment. Do you spend just as much time smoking as you do grilling? Then ditto.
Memphis grills are so easy to use and offer the best cooking performance of any pellet grill on the market today. Whether you are a master griller or a casual weekend warrior, this grill can get the job done and then some.
Why You Should Think Twice
There are always some warnings to point out when reviewing grills, but in all honesty, the only real downside here is if you are wary of spending four figures on a grill. Seriously, if the price tag gives you a heart attack, you’re not ready. Get something smaller and less expensive first and continue to dream about a Memphis until you can make it work.
That being said, Memphis Grills probably has your back at a price point that makes you comfortable.

Prices And Warranties
I have seen the Memphis Pro priced between $3,599 and $3,900. As for the warranty, after the date of purchase, you’re protected against any material or workmanship defects for seven years. The electrical and electronic parts are covered for three years. Neither warranty includes the grill cover gaskets, burn pot, or corrosion. The meat probe is protected for 30 days after purchase.
Memphis is not just known for making superior premium quality grills. They are also known throughout the industry for providing excellent customer care and service. This is just one more reason to join the fan club.

The Bottom Line
My final thoughts on the Memphis Pro Pellet Grill are simple: YES! If you can afford it, if you’ll use it, and if looking at it causes you to hear the sizzle, then yes. At the very least, stick with this brand.
The excellent temperature control and cooking versatility, not to mention the innovative features and quality build make the Memphis Pro a top choice. One that will last for years to come.
Have you used this grill? Do you have something to add? Leave your review in the comments! We always welcome your input and I would love to hear about your experiences with it.
